Helio G85 vs Exynos 9611: CPU, GPU & Manufacturing Process

CPU

Here in the CPU section, the Helio G85 easily wins because where the Samsung Exynos 9611 has four ARM Cortex-A73 Big Cores operating at up to 2.3GHz and four Cortex-A55 Little Cores running at up to 1.7GHz clock speed whereas the MediaTek Helio G85 features two ARM Cortex-A75 Performance Cores clocked at up to 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 Efficiency Cores that can operate at up to 1.8GHz clock speed.

Here the Exynos 9611 has a better clock speed of its big cores and the Helio G85 has a better clock speed of its little cores, but the Helio G85 has better CPU architecture because of which it has the better CPU processing in comparison of the Exynos 9611 SoC.

GPU

Moving on to the GPU part, here the Helio G85 got an ARM Mali-G52 GPU operating at up to 1GHz clock speed and it is paired with MediaTek HyperEngine Gaming technology. While on the other side, Samsung Exynos 9611 integrates an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU with an unknown clock speed.

Manufacturing Process

In terms of power-efficiency, the Exynos 9611 is a better chipset than the Helio G85 because the Helio G85 is built on the 12nm manufacturing process of TSMC while the Exynos 9611 is fabricated on the 10nm FinFET Process of Samsung’s own, so it uses less power than the Helio G85 to boot-up.

Camera & Optics

Coming to the camera part, here the Helio G85 can handle up to 16MP + 16MP dual and single-camera of up to 48MP at 30fps.

While on the other hand, Exynos 9611 has support for a dual camera of up to 16MP + 16MP and a single camera of up to 24MP.

Here the Helio G85 has better single camera support compared to the Exynos 9611 chipset.

Memory

In this section, the Helio G85 has support for up to 4GB LPDDR3 RAM clocked at up to 933MHz and up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM clocked at up to 1600MHz. Speaking of storage then it can support eMMC 5.1 based storage only.

On the other side, the Exynos 9611 supports up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM operating at up to 1866MHz and UFS 2.1, eMMC 5.1 types of storage.

Here in this section, both chipsets have support for up to 4G only. Speaking of the Helio G85, it can capture a maximum downloading speed of up to 300Mbps using LTE Cat.7 and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13 while the Exynos 9611 uses LTE Cat.12 3CA to provide a maximum downloading speed of up to 600Mbps and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13 2CA.

Speaking of other features like WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, etc, are the same in both chipsets.
